If a printer has stopped working, here are a few ways to diagnose the problem.
- Inspect the printer. Verify the paper is loaded, the cover is closed, the ethernet cord is connected, and the power cord is plugged in.
- From your Account Dropdown in the Action Bar, tap Settings then select Printers.
- Tap Look For Printers.
- Tap the name of the printer that isn't working to view its status.
- Tap Test Printer button to print a test receipt.
Printer Status
Any printer detected on your network will appear in your printer list and be assigned a status.
- Active - This printer is active and available for use.
- Searching - Change is currently looking for this printer.
- Connecting - Visible on the network and attempting to connect to this printer.
- Disabled - This printer has been disabled for use.
- Warning - No paper or roll paper near end.
- Error - Something is wrong with the printer.
Printer Errors
If a printer is experiencing an error, tap that printer in your printer list to view its status. Here is a list of potential errors and what they mean:
Network Status:
- Visible - Printer is visible on the network.
- Not Found - Printer is not found on the network.
- No Wi-Fi - Unable to find a network connection.
Connection Status:
- Attempting - Attempting to connect to this printer.
- Connected - Connected and working.
- Paused - Printer is on and connected but unavailable.
- Offline - Printer is not connected.
Unable To Find a Printer
If a printer does not appear in the printer list at all, try the following:
- Make sure your printer has been set up correctly.
- Verify your iPad and printer are connected to the same network. Otherwise, Change won't be able to detect the printer.
- Restart your Wi-Fi router.
- Return to Settings, select Printers then tap Look For Printers again.
- If the printer still doesn't appear in the list, turn the printer OFF and then back ON again.
- Return to Settings, select Printers then tap Look For Printers again.
