Settling Credit Card Batches

Entering Tips

When credit card tips are enabled, your customers can write a tip amount on the merchant copy of the credit card receipts. At the end of the day, you'll need to enter these tips into Change for each of your credit card charges. 

Gather up your Merchant Receipts, then tap the Charges tab in the Action Bar at the top of the screen. Select Enter Tips

Tap the first charge on the list or search for a specific Lookup # and select it.

Find the matching Merchant Receipt with the same Lookup # and enter the tip amount in the field at the top of the screen.

If you'd rather enter the adjusted total, instead of the tip, tap the Switch button next to the field.

Once you've entered the tip amount, tap Next to go to the next charge. Repeat this until you've entered all your tip adjustments. Once you've finished, tap <Charges at the top of the screen to exit.

NOTE: You'll want to make sure you enter all tips before settling your batch of charges. Once the charges have been settled, you cannot adjust them.
NOTE: If you have auto-settle enabled with your merchant account, be sure to enter your tips before the time of settlement, otherwise, the charges will be settled for their original amount.

Settling Credit Card Batches

Once you've entered all your tip adjustments, you can now settle your batch of charges.

Tap the Charges tab in the Action Bar, then select Settle Charges.

Review your Settlement Report, then tap Settle Charges. It may take a few minutes to submit all the data, but once it's complete, a receipt will print with all the batch information.

NOTE: Once charges have been settled, you can no longer adjust them within Change. To refund a charge, you will need to access your merchant account dashboard or contact your merchant account rep.
NOTE: If you have auto-settle enabled with your merchant account, be sure to enter your tips before the time of settlement, otherwise, the charges will be settled for their original amount.

Viewing and Reprinting Batch Reports

To view or reprint past batch reports, tap the Charges tab in the Action Bar, then select Batches. Tap the batch you'd like to view or print and a preview of the report will appear.

If a batch is currently open, tap Open Batch to view or print your current batch report.
