Seats and Splitting

Seats allow you to divide up an order and assign items to specific customers, as well as, split items among various customers.


Adding Seats

By default, whenever you add items to a new order they are assigned to seat one. When you're ready to start a second seat, tap the Add Seat button in the Order section of the Order Journal.

This will create and select a Seat 2 row. Now you can add items to this seat.

To select and edit a seat, tap the row containing the name of the seat to highlight it. Now you can add additional items to this seat.

Removing Seats

At this time, there is no button to remove a seat. However, if a seat doesn't contain any items, it will disappear from the Order Journal when the order is suspended or after checkout. 


Splitting Items

To split an item across more than one seat, select the item in the Order Journal then tap Spilt/Assign Item in the middle column. 

Use the checkboxes next to the seat numbers to assign the item to different seats. To add a new seat and assign the item to it, tap the grayed out row at the bottom of the list.

Tap the Order Journal to exit back to the Ordering Screen.


Moving Items Among Seats

To move an item from one seat to another, select the item in the Order Journal then tap Spilt/Assign Item in the middle column. 

Use the checkboxes next to the seat numbers to assign the item to a different seat. To add a new seat and assign the item to it, tap the grayed out row at the bottom of the list.

Tap the Order Journal to exit back to the Ordering Screen.


Splitting Checks

After you've finished adding items to seats, go to the Payment Screen by scrolling down to the bottom of the Order Journal.

Check the box next to the seat or seats you'd like to checkout first. Then select the payment method in the middle column. After entering the amount, you'll notice two buttons at the bottom of the screen: 

  • Apply - Applies the payment, but leaves the seat open.
  • Close - Applies the payment and closes the seat.

Repeat these steps with the remaining seats, then tap Checkout.

To close a seat after applying payment, check the box next to the seat then tap Close​.


Printing One Customer Check

To print one check for an order with multiple seats that is broken out by seat, tap the teal Print button in the Order section of the Order Journal.

You can also do this from the Payment Screen by checking the box next to ALL SEATS then select Print from the middle column and tap Customer Check.


Printing Separate Customer Checks

To print separate customer checks for each seat in an order, scroll down to the Payment Screen and check the box next to ALL SEATS. In the middle column, select Print then tap Individual Checks.

To print a customer check just for one seat, scroll down to the Payment Screen. Check the box next to the seat, select Print then tap Customer Check.


Closing Seats

If you need to close a seat after applying payment, scroll down to the Payment Screen. Check the box next to the seat, select Overview then tap Close at the bottom of the screen.
